Markus Stein

Markus Stein started his career in journalism at the German public broadcaster ZDF, where he worked from 2009 to 2018, producing explainer videos for national news and Germany's most successful news magazine heutejournal. He joined the Neue Zürcher Zeitung - one of the preeminent news sources in the German-speaking world - in July 2018 as a video-journalist specializing in visual explanations and became head of the video team in September 2018. In October 2020, he was appointed as head of the newly created Video & TV department and has since led the video team as well as the documentary program NZZ Format.
