Information
Dmytro Tishchenko is the founder and leader of Cukr.city, a Ukrainian media organization specializing in cultural, educational, and media initiatives. Based in Sumy, Cukr.city has grown into a dynamic ecosystem that operates a digital platform, publishes a print magazine, produces podcasts, organizes cultural and educational events, and manages a crowdfunding platform, among other projects.
Dmytro graduated from Sumy State University in 2015, earning a master’s degree in applied mathematics and a bachelor’s degree in enterprise economics. To further develop Cukr.city and launch new initiatives in media and culture, he also completed an MBA program at the Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (kmbs).
Before founding Cukr.city, Dmytro worked at the Sumy branch of the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine. During this time, he also established a free journalism school for youth, which became a stepping stone to launching his own media outlet. Initially founded under the organization ""Smart City,"" Cukr.city became an independent entity in 2019 and now leads strategic efforts in developing Sumy’s media and cultural landscape.
Under Dmytro’s leadership, Cukr.city has significantly contributed to the city’s community by fostering dialogue, promoting civic engagement, and strengthening local culture. The organization also administers the Sumy Community Foundation, which has raised over 45 million UAH since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine. Through his work with Cukr.city, Dmytro has positioned himself as a driving force in local media innovation, creating a platform that not only informs but also empowers and connects the community of Sumy.
