Information
Che De los Reyes is a journalist and a media development worker. She brings with her a wealth of experience from both the media and development sectors. She became the Programme Manager for the Philippines of International Media Support (IMS) in August 2022 where she works closely with the media and other stakeholders to support good public interest journalism, promote media safety, and counter disinformation.
Before joining IMS, she formed the first news research team of ABS-CBN News, whose work formed the foundation for award-winning stories of the Investigative & Research Group. ABS-CBN used to be the biggest broadcast network in the Philippines before it was forced off the air by the political allies of the former Philippine President. Prior to ABS-CBN, Che was with the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism as senior writer-researcher, and later as training director.
Before joining the media, Che was a development worker with extensive experience in policy research and development communication. She worked with local NGOs and has consulted for projects supported by the USAID, UNFPA, and the World Bank.
She has a master’s degree in journalism from Ateneo de Manila University where she was a Konrad Adenauer fellow. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Community Development, with honors, from the University of the Philippines Diliman.
