La nuova Amministrazione USA ha reso chiaro che Washington non vuole più essere il principale garante della sicurezza dell’Europa. Trump spinge per un cambiamento sistemico, riportando il mondo alle sfere d’influenza di America, Russia e Cina. L’Europa, per non restare marginale, deve dotarsi di una difesa comune.
Aumentare la spesa oltre il 2%, migliorare le difese aeree, sviluppare piattaforme comuni e garantire un deterrente nucleare sono priorità urgenti. Il piano UE da 800 miliardi segna un cambio di rotta, con la Germania pronta a investire.
Ma chi guiderà la difesa europea? Come sarà finanziata? Serve puntare su tecnologie USA o creare un’industria autonoma? E quale rapporto con la NATO?
Il dibattito è aperto, con il nucleare francese al centro della discussione.
