Tim Sebastian was the first presenter of the BBC's Hardtalk programme and is currently lead presenter of DW's Conflict Zone. He was twice awarded "Television Interviewer of the Year" by the Royal Television Society in the UK and a BAFTA award for the year's most important personal contribution to factual television. This workshop will be interactive with clips from interviews illustrating accountability techniques, with questions from the audience and discussion with audience members. The emphasis will be on interviewing politicians, the importance of factual preparation, and techniques for dealing with diversion and 'whataboutism'.
