Il Large Binocular Telescope, con i suoi due grandi specchi di oltre otto metri montati su un'unica montatura binoculare, è un telescopio unico al mondo, per cui l’Italia ha sviluppato strumentazione d’avanguardia. Quest’anno festeggia i suoi primi 20 anni di attività, durante i quali ha implementato nuove tecnologie e realizzato importanti scoperte astronomiche. Per celebrare l’evento, e per ringraziare tutte le persone che in questi anni hanno lavorato per costruirlo e usarlo per osservare il cielo, il fotografo Renato Cerisola ha eseguito un servizio fotografico che mostra il telescopio dal suo interno e documenta, con le immagini che potrete ammirare in mostra, come lavorano i tecnici e gli astronomi che lo fanno funzionare tutte le notti sui monti dell’Arizona. Note Il telescopio è stato realizzato utilizzando anche i fondi PNRR assegnati al progetto STILES dell’Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica. Le visite guidate saranno effettuate dai ricercatori del progetto A cura di Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica
