250 milioni di anni fa il supercontinente Pangea cominciò a scindersi in due blocchi: Laurasia a nord e Gondwana a sud. In mezzo rimase un tratto di mare tiepido che 130 milioni di anni fa finì nella morsa della placca africana in moto verso l’Eurasia. Dalla collisione nacque il mar Mediterraneo, piccolo e quasi chiuso, ma di importanza cruciale per la biodiversità e per lo sviluppo della civiltà nelle sue varie forme. Parleremo di geofisica, di popoli mediterranei e di come siamo arrivati alla geopolitica del Mediterraneo di oggi. E di domani.
