Intrecciando si impara - Viaggio tra le fibre vegetali e i loro usi
Settemila anni: ecco il tempo in cui, come testimoniano i rinvenimenti archeologici, le tecniche di lavorazione e di intreccio delle fibre vegetali sono rimaste invariate. Oggi, nella splendida cornice dell'Orto Botanico di Genova, imparerete a conoscere la differenza tra fibre vegetali, animali e sintetiche; dopodiché, osserverete nelle serre alcune delle piante usate nel corso del tempo per creare tessuti, cesti o intrecci. Le fibre tessili di origine vegetale possono provenire da diverse parti della pianta: dal seme, come il cotone, dal fusto dove viene trasportata la linfa, come il lino e la canapa, dalle fibre vascolari delle foglie, come nell’agave, o ancora dal frutto, come il cocco. E alla fine, non dimenticate di portare a casa il braccialetto che avrete realizzato!
