L’evento vuole presentare l’opera e la figura di Ghitta Carell attraverso il racconto di Roberto Dulio e Maria Sica (curatori del volume Ghitta Carell’s Portraits. We all think of ourselves as one single person but it’s not true) e di Eric Ghysel, presidente editore di 5 Continents. Il confronto sarà anche l’occasione per una riflessione più ampia sulla fotografia, potente strumento espressivo e di comunicazione, anche in tempo di guerra. È la stessa Carrel, infatti, a confidare alla sua assistente Elena Canino, autrice del romanzo autobiografico Clotilde tra due guerre, Milano, Longanesi & C., 1956: “I create photos for posterity”, quasi a testimoniare il potere e la valenza comunicativa che il ritratto fotografico può assumere e mantenere nel tempo.
