Donne contro le regole: da Anna Julia Cooper a Viola Klein
C'è un'affinità tra il destino delle donne e l’origine delle scienze sociali e non è una semplice coincidenza che l’emancipazione femminile sia iniziata contemporaneamente alla nascita della sociologia. È una storia poco nota, ma popolata da opere per la prima volta tradotte in italiano. Tra queste "Voce di una donna Nera del Sud" di Anna Julia Cooper (1858-1964) e "Il femminino come costruzione sociale" di Viola Klein (1908-1973). In modi e luoghi diversi hanno cercato entrambe di rompere l’ordine sociale stabilito per le donne: dalla lotta per l’istruzione della Cooper (nata schiava, si laureerà in matematica, fino a ottenere all’età di 67 anni il dottorato in storia alla Sorbona) ai lavori della Klein contro i recinti ideologici che le confinavano solo in certi ruoli e posizioni. Due storie e temi di cui parleranno le curatrici Alba Francesca Canta (Università Roma Tre), Marta Visioli (Università Cattolica), l’attivista Rahel Sereke e la giornalista del Sole24Ore Eliana Di Caro.
