Città aperte. Luoghi osmotici e poli di attrazione tra terra e mare
L’incontro intende ragionare sulla valenza storica delle città quali punti di incontro, elementi di connessione e di contaminazione di culture, da sempre “acceleratori dell’intero tempo storico” per dirla con Fernand Braudel. Tre studiosi di estrazioni diverse ma con percorsi vicini dialogheranno su questi temi, a partire da alcuni casi studio, muovendosi tra età moderna e contemporanea. Si parlerà di mare, di scambi, di porti franchi mediterranei, di Livorno che ne incarnava il modello “perfetto”; e poi di Gorizia, città cosmopolita, crocevia di civiltà, che non ha certo perso la sua vocazione nonostante il confine eretto nel XX secolo e l’affermazione dei nazionalismi.
